Side Scuttle is a kind of round watertight window installed on the side plate, the upper deck structure and outdoor bulkhead of the ship.It is also can be called porthole.Compared with the normal rectangular window on the vessel, the porthole bears and transfers certain hull structure strength. According to the max allowable pressure, there are three types: heavy type, medium type, light type.
